Couple’s Shower Ideas

A bridal shower doesn’t have to be a no-boys-allowed event. Sure, they might not appreciate gabbing over cups of tea and playing toilet paper bride, but there are plenty of ways to include them in the fun. Here are a few ideas for a couple’s shower that will be fun and memorable for everyone.

Activities

Tie the Knot Jenga

A classic game with a twist. Have each couple go head-to-head in a tournament style format (the  team that wins plays against the next couple until there’s one team standing). The twist? Tie each couples’ hands together for an extra challenge.

The Old Ball and Chain

For this couple’s game you’ll need spray painted foam balls, string, and a few buckets. The goal is for each team to get as many “ball and chains” to the bucket in one minute. The trick is that the balls can only be transported by placing them between the knees. The team with the most balls in the bucket at the end of a minute wins.

Sports Shower

If the weather’s nice, organize a couple rounds of tennis, ultimate frisbee, volleyball or rent bicycles, in-line skates or snorkeling gear for an all-day adventure. For less-than-perfect weather, consider inside sports like bowling and bar games.

Pool Party

Break out the barbecue pit for hamburgers and hotdogs and let everyone relax by the pool or set up a few pool games like relay races and diving board contests. You could even go old school with Marco Polo.

Cocktail Hour

For a group that wants to keep it relaxed, have a few cocktails and appetizers at a favorite restaurant. Or keep it in-house with a martini mixer where you stock the bar and provide the hors d’oeuvres.

Gift Ideas for the Couple

  1. Home improvement items like tool sets, yard items and painting equipment. If you’re unsure, a gift card to Home Depot covers your bases.
  2. Bar and grill items such as grill accessories and bar stock.
  3. Kitchen gadgets
  4. Honeymoon gifts that can be used during the couple’s vacation: snorkeling gear, flip flops, travel guides, hiking accessories, etc.
