What better time to throw an epic pool party than during the summer months? Especially if it’s in honor of a future bride. This guide is sure to help you put together a bachelorette pool party that’s worthy of your friend’s last fling before the ring. Trade in those pink sashes for some sunnies and take a dip into these tips.

1. Find Your Venue

First thing’s first – locate the perfect pool party venue in your area, or if it’s a destination bachelorette party, the venue in your chosen location. This could include a friend or family member’s backyard pool, a rental house for a weekend bash, or a hotel with a pool area large enough to accommodate your group. When looking for a hotel, inquire about bachelorette party packages; you never know what kind of deals you may get. And make sure the venue you choose has adequate shade for those moments when you just can’t take the heat.

2. Send Out a Cute Invitation

Once you have your venue picked out and confirmed, it’s time to send the invitations. Choose one that sets the tone and matches the theme, if you have one. There are a ton of cute invites with a pool party theme, including these found on Etsy.

3. Decorate the Space

There are so many options for pool party decorations that it might be hard for you to choose which ones you want! A few ideas: pool floats (find everything from unicorns to ice cream to mermaid clam shells here), word balloons or signs, floating faux presents, pineapples, flamingos.

4. Give Out Welcome Gifts

What guest wouldn’t love to be welcomed with a pretty tote on her lounge chair? Again, the options are endless and it’s really up to you as to what to fill those welcome bags with. I love these ideas: floppy hats, temporary tattoos, sunshades, sunscreen, magazines (for poolside lounging), hand fans, matching tank tops, monogrammed towels, custom koozies, hair ties, eye masks, lip balm.

5. Boozy Treats and Yummy Sweets

A poolside bachelorette party wouldn’t be complete without a couple of boozy concoctions and some delectable desserts. Serve up some poptails (Popsicle cocktails) and Gummy Bear shots followed by the oh-so-delicious cake batter ice cream balls and chocolate-dipped fruit cones.

6. Play a Game

A scavenger hunt is a game everyone can get behind. I love this I Spy Pool Edition. You can even customize the “I Spy” items.
